Jelly Jam

Think twice, maybe you were right
I’m not, one to see the light,
So what? That’s just who I am,
Spread thin, just like jelly jam
I can explain, anything except my brain,
And I try so hard not to try so hard and it makes me insane
Hop on a train, anything to escape the rain,
Could you explain, my brain?
Three times, maybe it’s a charm,
These dice, won’t do any harm,
Think things are exactly what they are,
Strung out and sleeping in a car,
I can explain, anything except my brain,
And I try so hard not to try so hard and it makes me insane
Hop on a train, anything to escape the rain,
Could you explain, my brain?
The other day, meant to say, you were on my mind
but it’s over
Run away, made of clay, we could waste the day
but it’s over
A mid-day cabaret, caught me by surprise,
but it’s over
The other day, meant to say, you were on my mind
but it’s over
You’ve seen that scene before,
A room without a door,
barefoot at the liquor store,
life is but a bore, but you can’t complain
You’ve never been the same
You’ve seen that scene before,
A room without a door,
barefoot at the liquor store,
life is but a bore, but you can’t complain
You called me up when I was breaking down,
It’s hard to right a wrong from out of town

Play

Why sit back and waste the day?
You could write a song and play it
for the people in your neighborhood
Why stay in and watch the rain?
Jump right in and start to sing that
song that you’ve been working on
Reach right out, and jump ahead
Just try not to bump your head
The ceiling seems to move, sometimes
Though the sun might hide behind the clouds its always there,
Bare in mind, it can’t be nighttime, everywhere,
Though the moonlight comes and goes, I’ll still keep the pace,
Devotion is a light, you can’t replace
Concrete steps and paper trees,
each providing melodies
to open and receptive ears
and the wind sang…
Ooo, ooo, ooo…
play with me come play with me, come play with me, come play…
Why waste words on wicked spells,
or tossing coins in wishing wells?
Fate is just fairy tale
While obsessed with productivity,
don’t miss the opportunity
to play, and play and play some more!
Though the sun might hide behind the clouds its always there,
Bare in mind, it can’t be nighttime, everywhere,
Though the moonlight comes and goes, I’ll still keep the pace,
Devotion is a light you can’t replace

Bait
09:12
|
|||
Ballistic, synergistic, counter-cultural mystic,
when words are wasted why not use a big stick,
to beat and to bolster and breathe eulogistic,
the ideological scene is a big trick,
rock and roll, rock and roll,
we all knew this would take it’s toll,
day and night, day and night,
magic moon, a wolf’s delight,
trick or treat, trick or treat,
the wack-job swept them off of their feet,
wax and wane, wax and wane,
the money rolls in when the melody’s down the drain
Wait, don’t take the bait,
a string free meal is coming, save the date,
Look, I bought an illustrated cook-book,
the grocer does the prep we’re off the hook
Masters, disasters, psychos on casters,
when heads start to roll use the chemical fasteners,
the docs and the gurus give flocks each their crackers,
while decking their pads out, in lacquers and plasters
Wait, don’t take the bait,
a string free meal is coming, save the date,
Look, I bought an illustrated cook-book,
the grocer does the prep we’re off the hook

Montreal

Montreal, I’m a fan
pretty little French girl asked me if I was a man
Sometimes, I can be a little beast
Opposite, roll with it, think I’ll stay the week at least
‘Till I go home,
I go home when I go home
I go home when I go home
Montreal, you’re a blast
Evenings with you always go to fast,
With you, my dear, I find true love
Bound to embrace, this place makes me fly like a dove
‘Till I go home,
I go home when I go home
I go home when I go home
Montreal, you’re the one,
Spent some time at your doorstep, under the sun
Somehow, I’m rollin’ back
You and you’re sweetness place me
Under attack
‘Till I go home,
I go home when I go home
I go home when I go home

Lady Lizard met a sloth in a tree,
They were S-K-I-I-I-N-G by three
Up the peaks there’s a snowy road,
Where the little critter love birds make,
A humble abode
Lady Lizard makes a mulberry pie,
Sloth plays the DJ and asks, “can I getcha high?”
Not quite a case of vertigo,
But I never did learn to ski,
The trail might be a bit much based on the map’s topography
“Nonsense, piece of, cake!”
They dressed me up in all sorts of gear,
I looked just like a bonafide bum
My concern is I’ll go too fast, blow up and break my thumb,
“Dear” said Lady Lizard, “there’s a bar up at the top,
We’ll take the lift and tie one on, It’ll be our very first stop”
“‘Nuff said, let’s shred! The ride’s reached it’s end, now it’s time to descend”
Last thing I saw, were my boots,
Poles in the air, powder everywhere,
Sure am glad I tried, those guys got me fried
That’s what friends are for
That’s what friends are for…
